Malcolm began his career as a freelance print designer and professional musician after graduating with a B.F.A. in Graphic Communication from Southwest Texas State University in 1988.

His design philosophy, emphasizing clean lines and a clear informational hierarchy, has garnered multiple awards in the highly competitive Art Director’s Club of Houston Annual Show. He encourages user-centered design, having produced eminently usable products for clients such as Marathon, Compaq, GE, Lockheed Federal Credit Union, Schlumberger, and Ernst & Young.

Malcolm currently sits on the Curriculum Advisory Boards of the Art Institute of Houston and North Harris Community College.
