In 2000, we were approached by the Focus Group, a Houston-based marketing communications company. One of their accounts, Loomis Fargo & Co., had some special Web needs.
Loomis Fargo is one of the world’s leading armored transportation, cash vault and ATM services companies. They wanted a site that would allow their administrative personnel to update content—especially job postings, whose frequent changes were vexing.
Our skill with design and technology—and the field of Web management in particular—made us the perfect firm to address their needs.
We designed a custom Web management system enabling them to add, remove or change job openings quickly and easily. A friendly, simple interface was designed to ensure understanding of what would show up on the site and what wouldn’t.
Each job position was accompanied by either a red or green traffic light. A red light meant that the position was filled, and would not be displayed on the site. A green light meant that it was a current job opening, and did appear on the website.
As job opportunities were filled and opened, administrators could toggle job listings to “stop” or “go”—without having to retype or redefine job descriptions.
They’ve been using the site for almost three years, and are still delighted.
Whether you need a basic content management system with a simple interface like Loomis Fargo’s—or full Web management for the enterprise—we can design a site that engages and informs users while maximizing your human resources.
