Individual users scattered across the enterprise will appreciate SAM's integrated workflow tools.
Customizable Workflow Definitions
By default, SAM includes an impressive array of user roles and permissions. Both individuals and groups can assume the role of Architect, Author, Editor, Approver, or Publisher—or just about any combination of these. Permissions to Edit, Review, Approve, and Publish are built into these roles, and may also be tinkered with. Although we've found this more than meets the needs of most businesses—even at the enterprise level—there are always exceptions to the rule. Custom roles and tasks can be designed as needed to match your internal process exactly. Since SAM is browser-based, it's a breeze to include "outside" contributors, like contract copywriters, into your workflow.
Roles and Permissions, Users and Groups
Granular user permissions allow site owners to control not only the pages that each user can access, but also the tasks they can perform. A familiar Users and Groups metaphor is used to admin the entire team (or teams).
Automatic Check In/Check Out
Multiple authors are sometimes responsible for the same content. Automatic Check In/Check Out prevents conflicting content updates by alerting users when they are trying to edit pages while they are already being edited by someone else.
Content Auto-archive and Rollback
SAM watches every move you make, archiving user activity and previous versions of all pages and content chunks. Not only can you see who changed what and when, but you can quickly compare any two versions or roll back to an earlier one. Such snapshots often come in handy for for legal, archival, and disaster-recovery purposes.
Rapid Implementation
How soon can you go live? Answer: How soon can you have your content ready? SAM implementation normally takes days (for small sites) or weeks (for large sites) instead of months, years, or epochs. Our Universal Protosite allows site architects to rapidly build and user-test a site's navigation and organization on a concurrent path with content development.
